PAHO launched its 17th Vaccination Week in the Americas in Brazil on April 20, with 45 countries and territories actively reaching out to almost 70 million people with vaccines against measles, polio, influenza and HPV, among others. The first Vaccination Week in the Americas was held in 2003 as part of the response to an outbreak of measles in Venezuela and Colombia the previous year. PAHO
