August 2023: Afghanistan kicks off anti-polio campaign

Afghanistan kickstarted an anti-polio immunization campaign on August 22. In a first round spanning most of the country’s provinces, the effort reached 1.2 million children under age 5 in the eastern zone and 1.25 million in the western zone.
