Somalia’s Jubaland state—bordering Kenya and Ethiopia—ran a five-day effort against cholera August 12-16, aiming to vaccinate 590,803 people ages 1 and above, including pregnant women. The house-to-house campaign took place in the districts of Afmadow, Belet Xaawo, Dhobley, Doolow and Luuq and included 788 vaccination teams comprised of two vaccinators, a data clerk, a cold chain attendant and a social mobilizer. As of the end of July, the country had reported 11,704 suspected cases of cholera and 30 associated deaths in 28 drought-affected districts. WHO EMRO
