Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province ran an anti-polio vaccination effort in 17 of its 34 districts August 7-10, targeting more than 2.7 million children under age 5. According to The Nation, around 6,947 teams were deployed to administer polio drops, and over 18,000 police personnel performed security duties. The drive was postponed in the Khyber tribal district, where a police labor action made security unavailable. Pakistan Today; The Nation
