August 2023: Madagascar begins regional vaccination drive against typhoid

Madagascar kicked off a regional vaccination drive against typhoid on August 21, aiming to vaccinate about 60,000 children between the ages of 9 months and 16 years. This campaign—taking place in the Arivonimamo and Antananarivo-Atsimondrano districts—is part of the Typhoid Conjugate Vaccine Introduction in Madagascar (TyMA) project, which seeks to evaluate the real-world effectiveness of WHO-prequalified Typhibev.
