December 2019: Lebanon launches phased vaccine campaign

In response to an ongoing measles outbreak, Lebanon launched a phased vaccine campaign targeting 915,750 children across the country. Children between 6–11 months of age will receive measles and polio vaccines, and those from 12 months to 10 years will receive measles-mumps-rubella shots. The first phase ran from December 7–22 and targeted children in Akkar, North and Baalbeck-Hermel governorates. The second phase will follow in early 2020 to cover the rest of Lebanon. UNICEF
