DESCRIPTION:During the high-level side event convened on the margins of the 78th World Health Assembly on 21 May 2025\, Cameroon\, Niger\, and Nigeria endorsed a Call for Action to strengthen cross-border collaboration to accelerate elimination of neglected tropical diseases (NTDs). A central recommendation from this Call is the development of a joint Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to harmonize and formalize efforts across endemic countries. \nIn alignment with this Call for Action\, NTD experts will engage in a series of consultations to develop and coordinate the endorsement of a joint MoU on cross-border collaboration for NTD elimination. \nExpected outcomes of the meeting \n\nAgreement among NTD experts from endemic countries on the key content of the joint MoU.\nConsensus on timelines for activities and the process for formal endorsement.\n\nWe strongly encourage NTD programme managers and disease focal points to participate in this important consultation.
