SUMMARY:Applying Human-Centered Design to the COVID-19 Microplanning Process: Lessons from Ga South
DESCRIPTION:Behavioral science\, the evidence-based understanding of how people behave\, make decisions\, and respond to programs\, policies\, and incentives\, offers methods and tools that can enable practitioners to develop tailored solutions for communities with lower vaccination rates. The Behavioral Science – Immunization Network project aims to support efforts to strengthen the capacity of immunization practitioners to use behavioral science approaches for immunization programming. \nIn collaboration with the Ghana Health Service and local partners\, the project supported the COVID-19 microplanning process in Ga South\, a district with low COVID-19 vaccination coverage. A human-centered design (HCD) workshop sought to strengthen health workers’ capacity to develop interventions with potential to increase COVID-19 vaccine acceptance and uptake in communities across the district. \nJoin colleagues from JSI to learn about how they integrated HCD into the microplanning process\, understand perspectives from health workers and community members on incorporating HCD into microplanning\, and hear about actions taken since the workshop. \nFeatured Speakers:\n⭐Emmanuel Nuworzah\, Senior Program Specialist\, Immunization at JSI\n⭐ Lisa Oot\, Senior Technical Officer\, Immunization at JSI

SUMMARY:Maximizing the untapped potential of NTD platforms to reach marginalized communities during future global health crises
DESCRIPTION:How can community NTD services and delivery mechanisms be leveraged to promote risk reduction behaviours and prevent misinformation amongst hard-to-reach communities during future pandemic responses? \nJoin COR-NTD and Sightsavers for highlights about key lessons to take forward and to adapt programmes and emergency responses to future global crises.

SUMMARY:Immunization Supply Chain (iSC) interventions: lessons and best practices for reaching under-served zero-dose communities
DESCRIPTION:This webinar is the second session in the series on How Immunization Supply Chains (iSC) contribute to identifying\, targeting\, and reaching zero-dose communities. \nThere will be examples of how supply chain interventions have contributed to reaching zero-dose communities. Speakers from regions and countries will share lessons and best practices of how in-country supply chain interventions have been designed and implemented to reaching zero-dose communities. \nTopics and speakers \n\nLessons learned and opportunities from iSC assessments in Cambodia\, The Philippines and Vanuatu: 3PL participation\, incentives for vaccines\, and technology for last-mile deliveries” (Ridwan Gustiana\, Christian Vazquez UNICEF EAPRO)\nLast mile cold chain and vaccine delivery optimization in DRC (Idrissa Yalcouye – UNICEF DRC) and VillageReach (Representative\, TBD)\nVaccine management for Polio (Gael du Chatellier\, UNICEF WCARO) and Partner (TBD)\n\nREGISTER HERE! \nClick here for more information.

SUMMARY:#1: Implementing an integrated\, life course approach to vaccination – what does this mean and where is the value?
DESCRIPTION:The first webinar in the series with the IA2030 Working Group: Life Course and Integration . \nThe Immunization Agenda 2030 (IA2030) aims to ensure that all people benefit from recommended immunizations throughout the life course\, integrated with essential health services. \nThis webinar series\, organized by the IA2030 Working Group for life course and Integration\, will showcase examples from immunization programmes that are successfully working toward an integrated life course approach to vaccination. The series will run on a monthly basis and cover broad topics including: school vaccination platforms\, opportunities for adult vaccination\, integrated health campaigns\, integrating nutrition and immunization services… and more! More sessions will be announced closer to the date. \nClick here to register!

SUMMARY:Achieving the WHO 2030 NTD Roadmap goals: systems and data-driven approaches to improve program strategy\, planning and implementation for the elimination of PC-NTDs
DESCRIPTION:This session seeks to focus on the shifts in approaches used to address NTDs as outlined in the WHO 2030 Roadmap. The WHO 2030 roadmap states that NTDs are designated as “neglected” partly because they are frequently overlooked by national health systems and encourages vertical interventions against NTDs\, such as MDA\, to integrate into community and national health information systems. This session will provide a real-world example of integration as experienced by the Ethiopia NTD programme as they have worked toward integration for the past four years. Key challenges\, such as system uptake and sustainability\, will be debated within the group to ensure future attempts of system strengthening\, implementation and use build on country-specific learnings. \nFurther\, this session will highlight how access to data and information through integrated systems is not only creating a positive demand loop for more timely and high-quality data\, but also enabling the visualization and use of national data to inform programmatic decisions at national and operational levels\, as countries face increasing challenges to address mapping gaps\, areas of persistent high prevalence and overall gaps in resources. \nWe will highlight opportunities for the use of data and analytics in the routine design and implementation of NTD programmes\, as well as explore how programmes outside of NTDs are already mainstreaming programmatic activities and promoting data use for programmatic decisions\, which provides a useful framework for NTDs. \nOverall\, the session will illustrate gaps\, approaches and best practices for the overall data process for NTDs – data availability and access\, analysis and visualization and data use and feedback. For data use\, new opportunities such as use of outputs and recommendations from mathematical models to inform strategic planning (e.g. how best to target MDA resources based on resource constraints) need to be introduced and streamlined into NTD programming at country level.

SUMMARY:Integrated supply chain approaches to reach under-served zero-dose communities with vaccination and PHC services
DESCRIPTION:This webinar is the third session in the series on How Immunization Supply Chains (iSC) contribute to identifying\, targeting\, and reaching zero-dose communities \nThere will be examples of how multi-sectoral supply chain approaches have contributed to reaching zero-dose communities. These approaches contribute to broader sustainability across supply chains for different commodities and health programmes (e.g. immunization\, maternal and child health\, nutrition etc.) contributing to greater sustainability and effectiveness. \nREGISTER HERE! \nClick here for more information.
