Papua New Guinea launches polio outbreak response: In a bid to stop the transmission of vaccine-derived poliovirus in the country, local media reported that Papua New Guinea’s government will launch the second phase of the national polio campaign on February 18—targeting more than 3.3 million children aged 0 to 15-years-old with two drops of the oral polio vaccine (OPV).

Health secretary Pascoe Kase told Post Courier that dates for two additional OPV rounds in 2019 will be announced later in the year. Post Courier report
