The Philippines conducted a polio drive from January 6–12 to reach 488,000 children under age 10 in the remote islands of Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi. The country confirmed four more cVDPV2 cases in mid-January, bringing the total number of polio cases to 16 since the outbreak was declared in September 2019. The Philippines also extended ongoing campaigns to January 20–February 2 through to April 4 in all regions of Mindanao, and January 27–February 7 in the National Capital Region.
