Nigeria conducted cross-border anti-polio campaigns in May as part of an initiative to improve immunization activities in border settlements. From May 14-17, Ogun state ran an integrated polio outbreak response campaign in three LGAs (Imeko-Afon, Ipokia and Yewa North) along the country’s boundary with Benin—an effort that reached 4,670 children with oral polio drops while also administering vitamin A supplements and Covid-19 shots to eligible children and adults. Meanwhile, in Cross Rivers state, 4,888 children under 5 were vaccinated in nomadic pastoral settlements in six LGAs sharing a border with Cameroon. WHO Nigeria
