Syria’s Aleppo and Idlib provinces administered a second dose of cholera vaccine to 1,119,799 people from June 10-20, an effort originally slated for the end of April. Deploying 1,870 volunteer paramedics, the campaign especially targeted children and adults living in tents. It came in response to increased risks of waterborne disease due to a combination of overcrowding and damage to water, sanitation and cholera treatment infrastructure brought on by earthquakes in February. A first dose of the vaccine was administered in March to 1.7 million people. Turkiye News; The Guardian
