Cuba launched the first phase of a nationwide campaign against polio on February 27, targeting 300,000 children between 1 month and 3 years with oral polio vaccine. In the second phase—slated for April 24-29—9-year-olds and children vaccinated in the first phase will receive another dose, and a catch-up phase is also planned for May 2-6.
