November 2019: Pakistan launches two-week polio vaccine campaign

Pakistan launched a two-week campaign on November 11, delivering polio vaccines to over 2.5 million children up to 5 years of age door-to-door in 11 districts of northern Pakistan and the cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. As of GPEI’s latest update, November 27, Pakistan has reported 91 WPV1 cases this year—a sharp increase from 2018’s 12 cases.
