September 2023: Tanzania runs anti-polio campaign in border regions

Tanzania conducted a polio vaccination effort September 21-24 in six regions bordering countries with a reported polio outbreak, according to a Ministry of Health press release. The campaign aimed to reach more than 3.2 million children under age 8 in the following regions: Kagera (729,387), Katavi (227,862), Kigoma (884,477), Mbeya (614,346), Rukwa (391,883) and Songwe (402,643). Over 5,000 health workers delivered vaccines door to door as well as in schools, houses of worship and other locations. Tanzania MoH
