This report, published in the World Health Organization’s Weekly Epidemiological Record, provides the latest insights and updates on global efforts to eliminate onchocerciasis, highlighting key achievements worldwide. To sustain progress, governments are urged to embed NTDs in mid-term and long-term development plans, ensuring they are recognized as core health priorities and protected from funding shifts while partners provide tools, technical assistance, and advocacy support to empower NTD programme managers and teams to lead integration and sustainability efforts effectively.
