In May 2022, the HCE Coalition Program Office convened in Geneva, Switzerland with members of the Leadership Team to discuss the campaign financing landscape analysis conducted by R4D, joined by partners from government health programs, campaign funders, global institutions, and NGOs. In addition to discussing the findings of the landscape analysis, participants identified high-impact and feasible actions that can improve campaign policies, financing, and practice. Those actions included: (1) designating a focal point at funding and partner organizations to work on campaign (or broader) integration/coordination; (2) strengthening accountability for campaign funding by coordinating with different funding organizations regarding how funds are being allocated/used; (3) building cost sharing into the financing beyond the government covering salaries and external partners bearing the brunt of the remainder; and (4) developing indicators to measure success on integration/coordination.
