From presenter Isis Umbelino: This poster describes the development of integrated skin disease training for health workers in primary health centers in Vanuatu to help strengthen the referral system for skin diseases between mass drug administration campaigns and health centers. The traditional training relying on didactic, expert teaching was transitioned to be participatory and holistic. The new Skin Disease Training is case-based; utilizing a problem-solving learning strategy based on health worker experience and local context. The learning process is informed by the participants; supported by their peers, experts, and experienced practitioners using an evidence-based package of interventions designed to be iterative, collaborative, and practice-oriented.
