Our previous newsletter highlighted the Nigeria Collaborative Action Strategy for Campaign Effectiveness (CAS) Implementation Planning Workshop, held in Abuja on October 29 – November 1. For our final newsletter of 2024, we look to Hawassa, Ethiopia, where the Health Campaign Effectiveness (HCE) Coalition held the Ethiopia CAS Implementation Planning workshop from December 3 – 6.

The workshop was supported and attended by H.E. Dr. Dereje Duguma, State Minister for Health Services and Programs, Ethiopia Federal Ministry of Health (FMoH) and regional health officials from all across the country. Representatives from partner organizations also attended, including the World Health Organization, UNICEF, the Carter Center, and others.

Workshop participants presented the customized Ethiopia CAS, finalized a draft plan to implement the strategy, and worked to identify the specific responsibilities, milestones, evidence, and resources needed for implementation. For example, evidence from the scientific review of drug interactions was used to inform identification of codelivery opportunities across campaigns.
