Lakshmi Balachandran

Lakshmi Balachandran is the Senior Director of Digital Health at the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI). She manages CHAI’s digital health work across 35+ countries, working with Ministries of Health to design, develop, implement, and transition technology systems for their public health objectives. Lakshmi’s role oversees the digitization of disease surveillance systems; large-scale public health interventions including immunizations, bednet distributions, and mass drug administrations; supply chain and inventory management systems; health insurance systems; and other technology solutions foundational to a country’s health system. Lakshmi has a Master of Public Administration from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, and a Bachelor of Engineering from the Nanyang Technological University. Lakshmi grew up in India, and is currently based in London, UK.
