9:00 am – 2:00 pm Eastern Standard Time (EST) The virtual event will feature panel discussions by experts who contributed to the success of onchocerciasis control. Panelists will share the long history of the onchocerciasis control effort, including the diverse, steadfast partnerships that made it possible, as well as lessons learned and best practices to achieve elimination of the disease over the near future. This event is an exploration of the factors that bred the success of elimination as well as a celebration of the book by author Bruce Benton: Riverblindness In Africa – Taming the Lion’s Stare.
